Hello!

Welcome to Dahlia Fever. I’m so glad you’re here.

I have been growing dahlias for over ten years now and every year I learn something new, and every year the garden surprises me. I grow dahlias in containers in my small, suburban, quarter acre yard in New England.

Like many gardeners, I started with way more enthusiasm than experience. What started as simply a few flowers to decorate my patio has slowly grown into a full blown hobby, a source of inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of seasonal living. More importantly, I’ve learned that gardening isn’t just about flowers. It’s about slowing down, paying attention, and finding joy in watching something you’ve planted grow and flourish.

Dahlia Fever is a place for gardeners, flower lovers, and dreamers. Whether you’re growing flowers in your backyard, tending a few pots on a patio, planning a future cutting garden, or simply admiring blooms from afar, you’re welcome here.

Here you’ll find practical growing tips, honest lessons from my own garden, seasonal projects, and inspiration for creating beauty in everyday life. You’ll also find encouragement to grow the garden that works for you, because meaningful gardens come in every size.

The phrase “Small Garden, Big Dreams” has become something of a motto for me because it really gets at the heart of what Dahlia Fever is all about. Most of us aren’t managing acres of blooms or running flower farms (though many of us dream about it from time to time). We’re growing what we can, where we are, and finding joy in the process.

My hope is that Dahlia Fever feels like a conversation with a friend: a place to learn, gather inspiration, and celebrate the simple pleasure of growing something beautiful.

Happy growing,

Vea
